At the 2 February drill, Midshipman Williams designed and implemented an interesting obstacle course.
At the first obstacle, cadets had to crawl under a barbed wire entanglement.
The next obstacle was a "mine field". Blindfolded cadets were guided through the mine field by their leader, who was not blindfolded. This exercise was a test in verbal communication.
At the next station, cadets were put to the task of building a stretcher out of two pieces of wood and two utility shirts. Once they succeeded, they loaded the "casualty" (seen in the picture lying on the ground) onto the stretcher and, blindfolded, transported her to the "safe zone".
At the final obstacle, cadets had to cross an area with the help of three boards. If any cadet touched the ground, the whole team had to start over!
