2009 Training Courses

NSCC POLA - Petty Officer Leadership Academy

Looking to get off to a GREAT start this summer? This is the perfect POLA for you! This will be a traditional POLA with focus on leadership (squad leader, company commander, guidon), teamwork, and basic color guard skills. Count on plenty of encouragement, positive feedback, and individual instruction. You will go home feeling motivated and ready to take your unit to new heights.

Honor Cadet: SN Andrew Dailey, 2745 Seabee Battalion

NSCC Culinary Arts

Experience culinary arts! Cadets will receive Florida Food Handler's certification and get hands-on experience cooking. Because of the team-building nature of this training, an honor cadet was not awarded.

NLCC Advanced Orientation - POLA

Looking to become a leader or improve your leadership skills in your Training Ship? This is the class for you! NLCC POLA will also be very helpful to cadets who will move up to the NSCC later in the summer. Prepare yourself to be company commander, color guard commander, and guidon. We'll also be sure to leave time for fun!

Honor Cadet: PO3 Patrick Ragan, American Victory Division

NLCC Advanced Orientation - Master At Arms

Interested in law enforcement? Become your Training Ship's MAA and help with inspections and other activities to help your unit! This class will include exposure to many aspects of law enforcement and police work!

Honor Cadets: PO3 Ariel Kehoe, Chattanooga Division, and PO1 Tracy Robinson, Training Ship Lassen
